The present Professional Proficiency Work (TSP), titled "Continuous Improvement at Plaza Vea Express: Strategies to Overcome Operational and Logistical Challenges in a Multifunctional Supermarket Retail Store", aims to analyze and propose solutions to the operational and logistical problems faced by the Plaza Vea Express store, a supermarket that is part of the Intercorp group in Perú. The study identifies that the store faces significant challenges, such as deficiencies in the administrator's operational management, congestion in supplier reception due to a single access point, municipal regulatory restrictions, and high turnover of administrators. These issues negatively impact the store's ability to achieve its sales targets, reduce operating costs, and improve the customer experience. To address these issues, three alternatives are explored: the implementation of the Kaizen methodology, contingency theory, and Porter's value chain model. Ultimately, the Kaizen methodology is selected for its focus on continuous improvement, involving all levels of the organization to optimize processes and improve operational efficiency. The study concludes that this methodology will enable the store to enhance its operational performance, reduce costs, and increase competitiveness in the retail market. The financial, operational, and administrative implications of implementing Kaizen include improved inventory management, employee retention, and logistics optimization, which will strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of Plaza Vea Express.
