The investigation has for title “EVALUATION OF THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF A SELF-COMPACTING CONCRETE ADDING SYNTHETIC FIBERS SIKACEM®-1 FIBER - CUSCO 2019“. The research proposes to develop a self-compacting concrete with materials that are found in the city, adding 100 gr. and 200 gr. of Synthetic Fibers “SikaCem®-1 Fiber” per bag of cement, seeking in this way to enhance the mechanical properties of self-compacting concrete. The research presents a quantitative approach, in a descriptive level, making use of the hypothetical-deductive method and a quasi-experimental design, thus being able to verify the hypotheses proposed to the problems. The dosage to obtain self-compacting concrete was made using the ACI 237R-07´s methodology reapproved in 2019, where the characteristics of passing ability, filling ability and stability that are typical of this type of concrete were met, complying with the Guidelines for Self-Compacting Concrete 2006 and ACI 237R-07., for the design of the dosage was used the high-range water-reducing additive (HRWRA) based on polycarboxylate called Eucoplast 8500 HP, specific for cold climates and for use in self-compacting concrete. The main mechanical properties evaluated are the unit weight, compressive strength, flexural strength and the elastic modulus, also analyzing the cost of production at the level of materials necessary for a cubic meter of concrete. For this, a non-probabilistic convenience sampling was carried out where the sample is equal to the population, with a total of 90 specimens, 45 cylinder concrete specimens of 10 x 20 cm and 45 prismatic concrete specimens of 15 cm x 15 cm x 50 cm., Developing and analyzing three types of concrete, a standard selfcompacting concrete, a standard self-compacting concrete with 100 gr. of Synthetic Fibers per bag of cement and a standard self-compacting synthetic concrete with 200 gr. of Synthetic Fibers synthetic fiber per bag of cement. According to the evaluation of the mechanical properties of self-compacting concrete, the addition of the Synthetic Fibers SikaCem®-1 Fiber slightly improve the mechanical properties, up to 4.54% the unit weight, up to 11.39% the compressive strength, up to 12.47%. the flexural strength and up to 12.08% the elastic modulus. Concluding that the use of Synthetic Fiber in Self-compacting Concrete is favorable.
