The present thesis determines the risks that can be developed in the project “greater maintenance of the units of generation N ° 1 and No. 2 of the hydroelectric plant of Yaupi - Junín“ leading to have a limitation in how to develop this model allows to investigate and to develop The model, having as a problem that the company does not have a risk management, which would mean that its improvement projects, can be affected having repercussions in its objectives of time and cost. The objectives of the study are to describe how to plan the risks of the project, to design the risk recording tool to have a better management of the project, allowing to minimize the negative impacts to the project. In this way preventing a deviation of time and cost in the execution of the project. The detailed description of the methodology of each of the project risk management processes, the roles and responsibilities are defined, the tools to be used are described. The research of the present work is of the descriptive type, through its application with deductive method and with a transversal design Non experimental. The SWOT analysis is performed with the purpose of how the project is currently in its internal and external factors; And how this is managed, another aspect is the application of the methodology of project risk management, identifying a total of 19 risks, under the guidelines of the PMI this identification is developed based on the five main processes; Planning, identification, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, response, control and monitoring. As a result of the application, the risks of each of the processes are determined, the level of risk exposure and the actions to execute the mitigation plan are identified, with the final process being the control and monitoring of the risks. Obtaining in the end a minimization of; 26 days in critical risks and 7% of budget. The academic contribution that is pursued with the development of this thesis is to design a document that guides the company Statkraft Perú S.A. To have a project risk management model. Through the application of the risk registration tool.
