This paper develops a maintenance plan based on the pillars of the Society for Maintenance Reliability Professionals (SMRP) with which we develop a maintenance plan that reduces the operating costs of maintenance of important equipment of mineral processing as is the High-Pressure Grinding Roll (HPGR) whose name translated to English is Crusher rollers of high pressure that is currently operating in minera El Brocal. Maintenance plans are developed in different approaches that can be reduction of maintenance costs, increased availability, increased reliability of equipment, reduction of untimely stops among other approaches. The development of a maintenance plan in the present thesis work aims at reducing costs in which information is needed on the current costs of spare parts, services and labor, with the appropriate information a current cost analysis is performed, then the plan based on the pillars of the SMRP is developed with which the maintenance unit cost is reduced within the analysis period. Maintenance unit cost is a metric that allows organizations to quantify the total maintenance cost to produce a standard production unit over a specific period of time. Provides a period-over-period comparison of maintenance cost per unit produced. This measure can be applied to a specific asset, a group of assets within a facility, an entire facility or multiple facilities and reducing unit costs is a benefit for mining companies.
