The object of this investigation is to evaluate the quality of water for human consumption in the city of Cusco, using the statistical control technique. The study is framed in a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design, descriptive scope. For the compilation of information, the documentary technique referred to the historical measurements of the water quality indicators in different points of the city of Cusco was applied. It was obtained as a result that the residual (free) chlorine in mg / L presents on average 0.94 mg / L, with a standard deviation of 0.171 mg / L. and a coefficient of variation of 18.07%. Regarding the turbidity measured in NTU, it presents an average of 0.50 NTU, with a standard deviation of 0.274 NTU and a coefficient of variation of 54.8%. Regarding the total hardness in mg / L, an average was 293.049 mg / L, with a standard deviation of 97.74 mg / L. and its coefficient of variation is 33.35%. In the measurement of chlorides in mg / L, an average of 104,717 mg / L was obtained, a standard deviation of 58.25 mg / L. and its coefficient of variation of 55.63%. The conclusion that could be reached with this study is: Residual chlorine, turbidity, total hardness and chlorides of the drinking water consumed by the Cusqueña population is within the permissible limits of the MINSA (Health Ministry of Peru).
