The objective of this research work is to demonstrate the effects of the phonological awareness program on the development of reading and writing, the pre-experimental design was used with an applied quantitative approach, causal explanatory level, hypothetical-deductive method; The information was collected in a sample of 26 students in which two types of tests were used; for phonological awareness the Metalinguistic Skills Test (THM) and for literacy it was Filo's (ABC) test. It is concluded by demonstrating that the application of the phonological awareness program significantly influences the development of reading and writing of five-year-old boys and girls of the Mi Dulce Hogar 2018 Educational Institution. As demonstrated by the general hypothesis test (p value o Asymptotic sig (Bilateral) = 0.000 which is less than 0.05), based on the results obtained, it is recommended that the Phonological Awareness program be applied in other classrooms with five-year-old students to verify its effectiveness.
