The objective of this research work was to determine the effects of the application of a social skills program on the achievement of competencies in the area of Social Personnel in students of the third grade of Primary Education of the Educational Institution Nº109, San Juan de Lurigancho, UGEL 05, Lima. The research approach was quantitative, the type of research was applied and the design was quasi-experimental. The sample was non-probabilistic and intentional, with 60 students. The instrument used was a competency questionnaire from the area of Social Personnel for the primary level, as a pretest and posttest. Only the experimental group received the intervention program. The results of the study demonstrate the existence of significant differences in the achievement of competencies in the area of Social Personnel, after the application of the program in the experimental group. In the contrast of the general hypothesis carried out with the Student's T test, the null hypothesis was rejected at a confidence level of 95%. These results showed that the application of the Social Skills Program has significant effects on the achievement of competencies in the area of Social Personnel.
