The objective of this research is to determine if there is a relationship between songs in English and oral communication in third grade students of secondary education. In addition, it was supported by a quantitative approach and a non-experimental design, with the hypothetical-deductive method, and also with a census sample of 75 students. The instruments were exposed to the judgment of three expert judges, who gave their approval for the application. Likewise, the reliability of the application of instruments was evaluated using the Cronbach Alpha coefficient, which gave positive results for both questionnaires. The main results concluded that there is a direct and weak relationship (rho = .478) between songs in English and oral communication; also, adapted songs (54%) and traditional songs (40%) were the most frequent in the study sample. Regarding oral communication of the English language, this was high at 88% as well as comprehension with 92%. An association could also be established between the dimensions: adapted songs (rho = .457), traditional songs (rho = .442) and the oral communication variable, while contemporary songs (rho = .350) could be associated with oral production.
