The objective of this research work was to determine the effect of the problem-solving method on the quantitative reasoning of the students of the Physics III subject of engineering at a Private University of Lima, 2021. The research was based on the method hypothetical deductive and the positivist paradigm, under the quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental design, at an explanatory level. The instrument used for data collection was a 20-item questionnaire based on five dimensions of quantitative reasoning, validated by five experts and applied to a sample of 120 students from the private university of Lima with two groups, one control and the other experimental. each with 60 students. The reliability test was carried out through Kuder-Richardson 20. The results were obtained through descriptive and inferential statistics, applied to students of the fourth cycle of the engineering faculty of a Private University of Lima. The result was the significance value of the parametric Student's t test was 0.00, rejecting the null hypothesis and accepting the alternative hypothesis. He concludes that problem-solving methods have had a significant impact on quantitative reasoning.
