The objective of the research was to relate video game addiction and psychological well-being in university students. The design was non-experimental and descriptive-correlational. The sample consisted of 448 university students of both sexes, between the ages of 18 to 30 years old, from both private and public universities. The instruments used in this research were the Video Game Addiction Scale-GAS and the Psychological Well-being Scale for Adults-BIEPS A. The results indicate that there is a high and inverse relationship between addiction to video games and psychological well-being (r = -0.709, p <0.01) in university students. 22.3% have serious addiction to video games and only 29.7% of the students have a high level of psychological well-being. Likewise, inverse correlations were found between video game addiction and the dimensions of social ties, acceptance / control of situations, autonomy and projects of psychological well-being.
