Social skills design a conglomerate of behaviors necessary to preserve the homeostasis of a social structure, since, through edifying dialogue, they provide a dispute-resolving posture. Disruptive actions, recognized for their detrimental psychosocial effect, are actions that undermine development and can lead to permanent disability or even early death. The research "Social skills and risk behaviors in adolescents of a public school in Piura, 2022" was carried out with the purpose of establishing the link between both concepts. The exploration approach was quantitative in nature, correlational, non-experimental and cross-sectional in orientation. The analysis group consisted of 235 high school students, who were administered the "Social Skills Test of the Ministry of Health", adapted by Myriam Churampi, and the "Risk Behavior Questionnaire" by Juan Carlos Gonzales, adapted by Esmeralda Inga. The results showed that interpersonal skills and risk practices are at a low level, represented by 97% and 89%, respectively. In conclusion, the findings of the present study revealed an opposite and slight association between social skills and risk behaviors.
