Academic procrastination is understood as the act of avoiding or postponing educational activities seeking to justify them (Busko, 1998); on the other hand, academic stress is the student's interpretation of the "complexity" of educational challenges (Barraza, 2008); For this reason, the research work aimed to determine the relationship between both variables in students of a private university in Lima - East in the year 2023, through a non-experimental cross-sectional design, at a descriptive-correlational level, a sample of 167 university students of both sexes was used and the Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA) and the Academic Stress Inventory (SISCO sv - 21), both adapted to the Peruvian context, were used as instruments. Likewise, to find the level of correlation, Spearman's Rho was used, obtaining that academic procrastination and academic stress have a moderate positive correlation. In addition, the levels of the dimensions of the variables were demonstrated, with medium and low levels predominating in procrastination, while low and medium levels were obtained in the dimensions of stress; finally, it is concluded that the variables are directly influenced as well as their dimensions, except for the coping strategies dimension with a minimal negative correlation; that is, the greater the academic procrastination, the greater the stress the student has and vice versa.
