Mindfulness can be understood as moment-to-moment awareness, without prejudice or being reactive to internal experience (Kabat-Zinn, 2005). Sense of coherence (SOC) is the ability to face daily challenges with own resources (Antonovsky, 1987). The versions adapted to the Peruvian context of the FFMQ and SOC-13 were applied to a sample of 101 older adults (76.2% women) who were between 60 and 80 years old (M = 68.09, SD = 5.05). The results reported that SOC is significantly related to total mindfulness and its facets of acting with awareness, description, absence of reactivity and absence of judgment. Regarding the mindfulness facets, acting with awareness, description, non-reactivity and non-judging of inner experience, were related with SOC. These four dimensions would be the ones that, in older adults, would contribute to the SOC to be able to respond to the events of the environment, understanding the particularities of each situation, managing it and giving it meaning. In addition, differences were found in dimensions of mindfulness, as well as in global SOC, according to place of birth, having a partner, having a disease, as well as associations with age.
