The principal objective of this study is to determine the economic, technical and market viability of the installation of a factory that produces bags made out of shiringa latex (Hevea brasiliensis), which is expected to contribute to the economic development of the Amazon region and to offer an ecofriendly and a cruelty-free option to the market. The product is aimed to women of Lima city between 18 and 55 years old, from the socioeconomic status A, B or C, and with a lifestyle oriented to the environment and animal protection. The demand calculated for the last year is 28 488 bags which will be distributed in boxes of 30 units each to department stores and with a sale price of 200 soles. The factory will be located in the department of Madre de Dios, in the province of Tambopata. Furthermore, this factory will have an area of 929,71 m2 with a production of 989 boxes per year and will employ 26 operators and 16 workers in the administrative area. The project requires an investment of S/ 2 304 477,99, of which 70% will be financed by a bank and the other 30% will be the own capital of the investors. Moreover, the project is economic and financially viable which is shown in the following ratios. The ENPV and FNPV are positive and equivalent to S/ 473 320,54 y S/ 711 349,22, respectively. On the other hand, the EIRR and FIRR are equivalent to 22,31% and 33,12%, respectively, and both over the opportunity cost (16,9%) which shows profitability.
