The research describes and discusses the representations and forms of media violence in the program Alto al crimen, emphasizing the figure of the actors, the informative treatment and the discourses of violence that are promoted through the using of security cameras, main narrative resource of production. This resource becomes an important element of study due to the presence it acquires in the preparation of reports. The narrative discourse and the proliferation of video surveillance cameras on tv news justify the study about the messages of violence. The used methodology consists of a discourse analysis, proposed by Teun Van Dijk, of eight sequences of the segment "En la mira", in addition to interviews with producers of the program and experts on the subject. Is confirmed merely visual use of the security cameras, the polarization of the discourse in the confrontations of the attackers and the police and the tag of city streets as dangerous. It´s concluded there is a circular and repetitive narrative in the events that occurred; the simplification of labeling dangerous districts of the city, by mean of a television production and logistics resource, and a spectacularization of violence due to constant exposure on television.
