Currently, in the textile sector there are different opportunities for productivity improvement and cost reduction in the manufacture of curtains that have their origin in various factors such as excessive waste and waste of materials 13.35%, delays in the manufacture and delivery of orders with negative effects on revenues and profits of the company. The objective of the study is to improve the productivity of the curtains manufacturing line, so an empirical research is carried out in the case study mode, developing an engineering solution model validated by simulation techniques; starting from a diagnosis of the situation found by applying the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) technique; establishing an opinion based on the analysis of the process by means of the causality tree technique to find the root causes of the problems to be solved and using the analysis of the research background on the subject, the most appropriate engineering tools for the solution were selected, taking the 5's for the proposed improvement. With this information, the model was validated through a simulation and a pilot test, finding that production costs were reduced by 3.74%.
