The study was proposed with the objective of determining the effectiveness of the demonstration in simple extraction as a teaching resource to improve the manual skills of sixth cycle students in the Oral Surgery I course of the Faculty of Stomatology - National University of Trujillo, 2022 -II. The methodological approach represents a pre-experimental study design, the type of study due to its purpose is applied. The population and sample were made up of students of the Oral Surgery I course of the Faculty of Stomatology of the National University of Trujillo. The normality distribution of the variables was evaluated through the Shapiro-Wilk test (n>50) in order to opportunely select the test statistic for related samples, deciding based on the results between a parametric test (Student's t) by meeting the assumption of normality (p>0.05) or a non-parametric test (Wilcoxon) by failing to meet this assumption (p<0.05). It is recognized that 86.4% of the students achieved mastery of manual skills in the extraction procedure after demonstrating the technique, marking an increase of 22.8%, since at the beginning it was 63.6%. It is concluded that the use of demonstration as a teaching strategy to explain the processes of simple extraction allows to significantly improve the manual skills that students initially present
