In order to describe the behavior of the severity of preeclampsia according to the variability of its incidence, mortality and lethality, 2000-19, at the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo (HRDT), a retrospective descriptive investigation was carried out on a total of 9,621 cases of pre-eclampsia registered, applying observation techniques and data recording through the Maternal Perinatal Computer System. For a better understanding, 2 periods from 2000-2009 and from 2010 to 2019 were compared. As a result, the presence of preeclampsia decreased from 20.3% in the 2000-2009 period to 11.1% in the 2010-2019 period, with respect to severity. Mild and moderate pre-eclampsia in the period 2000-2009 decreased from3.3% to 2.6% and from 12.6% to 5.5%in the period 2010 to 2019, but severe pre-eclampsia increased from 4.3% in the 2000-2009 period to 10.4% in the 2010-2019 period; The mortality rate remained statistically the same in both periods 2000-2009 and 2010-2019 with 0.01 per thousand cases and with respect to fatality increased from 0.06 in the period 2000-2009 to 0.09 in 2010-2019, in the HRDT. In conclusion, it was found that the behavior of the severity of preeclampsia according to the variability behaved decreasing the incidence, keeping the mortality and the increase in case fatality the same when comparing the periods 2000-2009 and 2010-2019 in the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo.
