Material and Methods: An analytical study, observational, prospective, cross- sectional type was carried out. The study population consisted of 86 patients older than 15 years; who they were divided into 2 groups: with and without fibromyalgia. Results: The frequency of depression in patients with fibromyalgia was 61%. The frequency of depression in patients without fibromyalgia was 25 %. Depression is associated with fibromyalgia with an odds ratio of 4.44 which was significant factor. The average score of the Hamilton depression scale was significantly higher in patients with fybromialgia compared to patients without fibromyalgia (p < 0.01). Conclusions: Depression is associated with fibromyalgia in patients treated at the Bethlehem Hospital of Trujillo factor.
