In order to investigate about the perception of women about cesarean section as choice of delivery in the in patients from 17 to 40 years old who attended the birth control consulting room at Belen Hospital in Trujillo - June 2017; the following qualitative research with phenomenological design was conducted to 30 women, the strategy was used for opportunity, the sample was obtained by data saturation. It was conducted a depth interview in which participants gave their answers like a story or dialogue. The interview was divided into sections: Section I: Reasons for a cesarean delivery, section II: Satisfaction for concluding the pregnancy in a cesarean delivery, section III: Complications before and after the cesarean delivery, IV section: Reasons for choosi ng the cesarean delivery, section V: Cesarean delivery benefits, section VI: Procreation limit because of the cesarean section. Women believe that cesarean section should be performed in case of complications to save mother or fetus’ life, however, there are women who chose cesarean delivery by themselves affirming that it’s an easier, less painful and faster surgical procedure. Moreover, they don’t know other significant complications except the surgical wound infection. About procreation, the cesarean section limited them to have 3 children, being acceptable for some women and an inconvenient for others.
