Objective: To determine whether induction of labor is a risk factor for postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony at Hospital Belén de Trujillo. Material and Methods: An analytical, observational, retrospective, case-control study was conducted. The study population consisted of 158 pregnant women , Which were divided into 2 groups: with postpartum haemorrhage or without postpartum haemorrhage; The odds ratio and chi-square test were calculated. Results: The frequency of induction of labor in pregnant women with postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony was 33%. The frequency of induction of labor in pregnant women without postpartum haemorrhage due to uterine atony was 4/79 = 18%. Induction of labor is a risk factor for postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony with an odds ratio of 2.27; Which was significant (p <0.05). Conclusion: Induction of labor is a risk factor for postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony at Hospital Belén de Trujillo.
