71,43%, p=0,032), el número de guardias nocturnas al mes (6,45 ± 2,53 vs 4,68 ± 3,34;
Objective: To determine if there are sociodemographic, clinical, occupational and lifestyle factors associated with daytime sleepiness in medical professionals. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out and 129 medical professionals of the Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo were interviewed virtually during the period between December 2022 and March 2023. The Epworth Sleepiness Scale and the DASS 21 questionnaire were applied to the participants. Results: Univariate analysis found that night shifts (90.32% vs 71.43%, p=0.032), number of night shifts per month (6.45 ± 2.53 vs 4.68 ± 3.34; p=0.008), surgical work area (67.74% vs 22.45%; p00.001), stress (70.97% vs 31.63%; p=0.001) and anxiety (83.87% vs 44.90%; p=0.001) were associated with daytime sleepiness. Multivariate analysis showed that surgical work area (ORa=6.28), stress (ORa=2.82) and anxiety (ORa=4.60) were associated with daytime sleepiness in medical professionals. Conclusion: Factors associated with daytime sleepiness in medical professionals were surgical work area, stress and anxiety
