Objective: To determine if Anemia is a factor associated with Febrile Seizure in infants and preschoolers. Materials and Methods: An observational, analytical, retrospective case study and controls were conducted. It included 200 patients from 03 months to 06 years of age, divided into 02 groups (100 with febrile seizure and 100 febriles without seizure) of the Emergency and External Clinic of the Pediatric Service of the Hospital Victor Lazarte Echrayega, for the period 2016 to 2018. Hemoglobin and hematocrit dosage were evaluated for all participants. Results: No significant differences were found in both groups with respect to age, sex and family history of febrile seizures. The presence of anemia was 61% in the group of seizures and 31% in the group with fever without seizures; there being a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.000) and an OR = 3.481 (95% CI, 1.941 - 6.243). Conclusions: Anemia is a factor associated with febrile seizures in infants and preschoolers.
