To determine the most frequent factors that cause self-medication for dental pain in patients of C.S Puente Chao, during COVID-19, May 2022. Material and methods: It was a descriptive, cross-sectional study, applied to 154 people who were given a survey. Said questionnaire consisted of 10 questions, the questionnaire was submitted to evaluation by expert judgment and a pilot test was carried out in 20 patients. Results: It was found that the availability of time to attend dental appointments was greater in women with p=0.021. Age was associated with the subvariables of having enough money to pay for dental care, obtaining an R=-0.225; p=0.005). The subvariable time to go to see the dental professional obtained an r = -0.036; p=0.047. The level of education was associated with dental care with R=0.214, it was also associated with counting money to pay for dental consultation with R=0.305 and if the cost of dental consultation is considered high with R=0.035. Conclusions: It was concluded that the willingness to attend a dental consultation was associated with the female sex. Having time to attend dental appointments was associated with age. Having enough money for a dental visit was associated with age and educational level. Considering the cost of care to be high was associated with the level of education. Having dental care in the area where you live was associated with the level of education.
