The purpose of this thesis work is to propose the application of an inventory man agement model to improve the cost of supplying drugs to the La Libertad Regional Health Department. Among the limitations presented by the hospital with inventory management were the insufficient storage of medications that lead to insufficient in ventories, bureaucratic processes in the acquisition, loss of medications through in ventory reductions, conflict of interest and a weak management system. Managing stock effectively is important to any organization, managing a hospital is no exception because without sufficient stock, patient services are detected. To achieve this purpose, it was proposed through the application of engineering tech niques: ABC inventory analysis, application of determination methods and determi nation of a continuous review system. Concluded these stages in the investigation, it allows us to propose the application of a purchasing model, which will support the inventory management system for the management. The data collection techniques applied for the development of the re search were the observation guides and the software reports, each with its respective instrument, taking into account the study variables. The results of this work will serve as a contribution to improve it, as well as serve as a basis for those who show interest in the subject and wish to continue with these studies.
