In the present investigation, the relationship between the financial behavior and the indebtedness of the heads of families of the Abraham Lincoln Educational Institution, located in the district of La Esperanza, was determined. A descriptive design was used using the questionnaire technique and documentary analysis, following the established guidelines. To test the hypothesis, Spearman's Rho correlation analysis was applied, which determined the degree of significant correlation (p=0.05) of the variables. Likewise, the statistical result of Spearman's Rho (r=-0.362) demonstrates a low negative correlation according to the scale used. The results showed that 97.3% of respondents have regular financial behavior, evaluated in terms of savings, budget and spending, while 94.26% show moderate debt, evaluated by their debt capacity, debt level and socioeconomic situation. In conclusion, it was determined that family heads manage to keep their debt within a manageable range
