The present investigation was carried out with the objective of determining the parasite prevalence and the factors associated with it, in the district of Pacasmayo. 75 samples of canine feces were collected in three different public places, Paseo de la Paz, 28 de Julio pedestrian promenade and Avenida Mariscal Caceres; which were then examined microscopically, excluding feces with signs of dryness or altered by some environmental factor. A parasite prevalence of 61.3% was obtained, with Toxocara spp being the most frequent parasite; The variables that could be associated with parasite prevalence were evaluated, such as: the conservation of green areas, water sources and contamination with feces. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi Square statistical test, resulting in that none of the variables evaluated were associated with parasite prevalence, conservation of green areas (p=0.201), contamination with feces (p=0.646) and sources of water (p=0.982). We conclude that, despite the parasite prevalence found in the district, none of the factors studied were related to the presence of parasites
