INTRODUCTION: A good performance in the National Medical Exam (ENAM) is important to secure a paid position in the rural medical service and then access specialization in our country. This has been linked to various factors such as Grade Point Average (GPA), the preparation time prior to the exam, the place of internship, anxiety, stress, among others. This study seeks to demonstrate the factors associated with the passing grade of the ENAM by the medical interns of our university, in order to improve the performance of the students. OBJECTIVE: Determine the factors associated with the passing grade in the ENAM 2023 of the students of the Antenor Orrego Private University MATERIAL AND METHOD: Cross-sectional and analytical study, the population was 347 interns from the professional school of Human Medicine at the Trujillo campus of the UPAO who took ENAM in 2023. A survey was conducted and public documents were reviewed. The results will be presented in absolute and percentage frequencies, means and standard deviations. The bivariate analysis used Pearson's Chi Square test and/or alternatively the Gamma test. Additionally, a multivariate logistic regression analysis was used. RESULTS: In the bivariate analysis, the variables associated with the ENAM passing grade were age, weighted average, time to complete the undergraduate degree in years, order of merit, anxiety and stress had statistical significance (p < 0.005 ). In the multivariate analysis for all variables, it was shown that the GPA (OR: 6.167; 95% CI: 1.751-21.711; p= 0.005) and not having anxiety (p= 0.005). CONCLUSION: In the bivariate analysis, age, weighted average, time to complete the undergraduate degree in years, order of merit, anxiety and stress had statistical significance (p < 0.05). In the multivariate analysis, only the GPA and anxiety showed to be associated factors for passing the ENAM among UPAO interns (p< 0.05)
