The present work of professional sufficiency is developed from the context of a consortium in the area of heavy cargo transportation formed by eight businessmen who strategically associated themselves to obtain contracts and satisfy the needs of large companies. One of the most important processes of the consortium is purchasing; dozens of acquisitions are made every month, which are essential to provide the quality service that characterizes them. However, an inefficient purchasing process has been identified, resulting in tax penalties, lengthy processes, poor labor performance and constant errors that generate a negative economic impact. The implementation of the improvement using the PDCA cycle and the BPMN methodology, together with digital tools, helped to significantly optimize the purchasing process, reducing the percentage of error in the purchasing process, increasing the number of trainings, reducing the cycle time of activity of issuing purchase settlements to partners and increasing the productivity of employees to meet their deliverables within the deadline. The results of the work were as expected, the general objective and the specific objectives were met. However, constant verification of performance through the indicators is recommended, and if the indicators are not met, corrective measures should be taken.
