The objective of this research is to determine the optimization of the logistics chain of land export to Bolivia of a leading mass consumption company in Peru, this is due to the problems that the company has been facing regarding the high operating times focused on obtaining Bolivian fleets. Three categories were considered for the study. First category, transportation modalities for the export of finished products in the mass consumption industry, second category, use of land transportation in exports of finished products to Bolivia, and third category, use of Bolivian transportation companies in exports from Peru to Bolivia. In terms of methodology, the research presents a qualitative approach, with an action-research design. For data collection, interviews with experts were used to identify several essential factors to be taken into account in order to establish a logistics center on the border between Peru and Bolivia. This initiative seeks to give the company, which operates in the mass consumption sector, a competitive advantage by optimizing operating costs and improving efficiency in the distribution of its products. Three possible solutions to this problem were identified: (a) Use cabotage cargo transport to export to Bolivia; (b) Replace the Bolivian land fleet with a Peruvian fleet along the entire export route; (c) Bring the finished product to the border by land with Peruvian transport and export it in Desaguadero with the Bolivian fleet. The results obtained through the investigation demonstrated that the approach of the finished product to the Desaguadero border with Peruvian transport and subsequent export with the Bolivian fleet, means a change in logistics that will generate a reduction of 5.5 days in the lead time of supply to the market. Bolivian, mainly impacted in operational procedures and on the other hand, a reduction in total logistics costs would be generated mainly due to the transport fleet variable.
