The problem of this investigation is the vehicular traffic between Peru Avenue and Canada Avenue, located in the district of San Martin de Porres - Lima - Peru. The project is mainly based on optimizing traffic light times, which will be validated through modeling in the Vissim program. The model consists of five phases. For the first, field visits were made to the intersection and information was collected such as the traffic light cycle, vehicle and pedestrian capacity, queue length and photographic record of the current state. Next, based on the information obtained, the current situation was modeled using the Vissim software. In the third phase, three proposals were projected: increase of two traffic light times, increase the traffic light time and decrease the traffic light time. With this, a comparison of the results is made between the current situation and the proposed situations. Finally, with scenario Nª01, a reduction in the queue length on Perú Avenue by 30% and on Canada Avenue by 18% was obtained in the microsimulation with the Vissim software.
