Cities face challenges due to population growth and migration to capitals, which has driven the vertical development of urban spaces. Initially, ramps and stairs were viable methods for accessing upper floors. However, with the proliferation of buildings over six floors and considering elderly or mobility-impaired individuals, these options become less practical and safe. Therefore, elevators emerge as essential structures to facilitate safe and efficient access to upper levels, optimizing significantly travel times. It should be noted that, the manufacturing, design and characteristics of an elevator must be in accordance with national and international standards. Likewise, the buildings or shopping centers where these elevators are installed must comply with the corresponding regulations, such as the vertical transportation study. However, many real estate projects, especially residential and family, do not adequately prioritize this study, leading to poor implementation of elevators. This is because small elevator companies, more common in these projects, lack the infrastructure and backing of big brands like OTIS, Schindler or TKE. To address this problem, it is proposed to develop a simulation prototype supported by current regulations that helps to correctly size the appropriate number of satisfactory elevators and their characteristics. This prototype would consider key aspects such as load capacity, travel speed, necessary number of elevators, and motor electrical consumption, ensuring adequate implementation of vertical transportation in various types of real estate projects.
