Introduction: The development of new medications has increased the lifespan of people living with HIV (PLWH). This has produced the need to treat other chronic infections such as HBV and HCV. However, it is not clear what the survival rate of PLWH with these coinfections is, since access to antiretrovirals improved in Peru. The main goal is to evaluate this survival rate according to the different features of the PLWH in Peru. Methods: Retrospective cohort based on the review of medical records of all PLWH with HBV and/or HCV coinfection over 18 years of age, treated between 2010-2022 in a public Hospital in Lima, Peru. PLWH with at least one year of follow-up were included. The probability of survival at 5 years in total, according to clinical and laboratory features was calculated using Kaplan Meier curves and Log Rank test. Results: 72 patients were included, with a mean follow-up of 47.8 months. 87.5% of them had HIV/HBV coinfection, while the remaining 12.5% had HIV/HCV coinfection. No patients coinfected by the 3 viruses were found. Of the total, only 8 patients (11.1%) died during the follow-up time. The probability of survival at 5 years was 87.0% (95% CI 75.3-93.4) in the entire sample; 89.9% for people with HIV/HBV coinfection, and 83.3% for people with HIV/HCV coinfection. People with older age, lower CD4 count, higher viral load, lower platelets count, anemia, and elevated transaminases showed lower survival, although these differences were not significant, with exception for the blood platelets count. Conclusions: The probability of survival at 5 years in PLWH with coinfection with a hepatotropic virus was 87.0%. Lower survival was observed in patients with certain clinical and laboratory features, although there were no significant differences, probably due to the small number of the sample, with exception for the blood platelets count.
