The main objective of this research is to carry out a comparative analysis of performance and costs between total station and drone topographic surveys for motorable trails. The methodology consisted of the planning and execution of topographic surveys with different methods (Total Station and Drone). As well as, determine the main problems for carrying out topographic surveys in the area. For this, the topographic survey with a total station was carried out with a Leica TS06 3” equipment and accessories; On the other hand, the drone survey was carried out with a Mavic 2 pro from the DJI brand. Obtaining performance and cost results for both methods, the use of a drone is more effective compared to the station, since the new technology captures more points in less time compared to the traditional methodology.
