The business environment has undergone a significant change, attributing to the human factor a fundamental role in organizations. In the Peruvian context, there has been an increase in the appreciation of the influence of the human factor and cultural elements on the work performance of employees. However, there is a lack of empirical research on how cultural characteristics impact small and medium-sized printing companies in Peru. This study focuses on identifying organizational culture factors and their impact on employee engagement in a printing company in Peru. To address this issue, an exhaustive analysis of background and qualitative and exploratory theoretical models has been carried out, specifically on the relationship between organizational culture and work commitment. In addition, the interview method applied to different hierarchical levels of the organization was used to obtain a deeper understanding of the case study. Based on previous research on culture, organizational commitment and leadership, several factors are identified as influencing work engagement. Lack of recognition, job satisfaction, working conditions, the presence of a leader and the alignment of organizational expectations are essential for employee engagement. Without a clear organizational culture base, the implementation of an optimal employee retention system is compromised in order to achieve organizational objectives.
