The purpose of this research is to integrate the areas of a mining contractor company with its Project Management Office (PMO), using the methodology of the Project Management Institute (PMI) to improve the execution, control and closure of mining engineering projects. a mining unit located in southern Peru. The research was quantitative, with a secondary data study design, which works the research with already existing data seeking to analyze both dependent and independent variables, concluding if there is a direct or indirect relationship between them. The data of the study is constituted based on the engineering project carried out by the mining contract, its organizational structure, contractual management and the areas of knowledge of the PMBOK. The thesis used the PMI PMBOK guide for the design and implementation of 3 areas of knowledge, which are integration management, risk management and scope management. These 3 areas were selected by means of a matrix of criteria that mediate the priority and agility of implementation. However, previously, a diagnosis of the organizational structure and the level of project management of the mining contract was made, to later identify the four areas of knowledge mentioned above. Then, the design and implementation of the methodology was carried out based on the PMBOK guide, which has been carried out in a period of 48 weeks. The design and implementation of the integration methodology contemplates the definition and scope of the PMO, the implementation of the 3 areas of knowledge and the implementation of contractual management through digital signature software. Finally, the level of maturity of the mining contract in project management was evaluated using the Darcy Prado Maturity Model (MMGP), both at the level of the organization and its engineering project. In addition, the PMBOK indicators were measured, which include processes, technology and organization. Based on the above, the results, discussions, conclusions and recommendations were presented.
