Over the past few years, The Hollywood industry has produced a host of remakes, reboots, live action adaptations, and sequels. This could affect, in a certain way, the artistic development of the films. What motivates companies to do this type of production? Are these companies looking to minimize risks? This paper analyzes the commercial success of the latest sequels feature films produced by the animation studio Pixar: Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 during 2018 and 2019, even though Pixar initially had the ideology of telling original stories. In addition, this paper also seeks to analyze the perceptions of young people from Lima about these sequels and the relationship that exists when dealing with continuations of animated classics that many of these young people enjoyed during childhood.
