Amauta films was a Peruvian production company founded in 1937. It had a fairly short period of existence, leaving a great mark on the Peruvian film industry. Amauta Films made 14 films in total that were well received. The period in which it produced is known as: The illusion for cinematographic training and the existence of a sound film industry in Peru. On the other hand, this production company's main objective was to be able to make films that could compete with productions from foreign Spanish-speaking countries such as Mexico, Argentina and Spain. Its films sought to portray Peruvian customs, landscapes, music and environments (Bedoya, 2016). This research proposes a documentary analysis of journalistic publications, magazines of the time and archive material on Amauta Films. From this analysis the following subcategories are determined: cinema as an industry, cinema as entertainment and the star system around cinema.
