Traditional dance is one of the most important manifestations within the culture of Peru. In the present investigation, the architectural problems maintained by specialized dance centers nationwide were detected. In Metropolitan Lima, dance centers are mainly concentrated in Downtown Lima, leaving the existing demand in the north of the capital unattended. According to the National Dance Council (2018), these institutions dedicated to the expression of movement do not have spatial, acoustic conditions, presentation spaces and recreation areas, where Peruvian art is trained and exposed to the public. This is due to the fact that, for the most part, they are buildings of different types adapted to a new use, which reduces the possibility of having an educational quality that enhances the relationships between culture, dancers and the environment. Therefore, through the criteria of in-between spaces, it seeks to create an architectural project that formulates links between the city and the building, in order to generate permanent environments for students and platforms for artistic presentation. This is how the creation of the Superior School of Folkloric Dances is proposed, an institution that through form, functionality and bioclimatic management, generates a specialized center in San Martín de Porres that meets the current demand of the city of Lima.
