This research seeks to identify how symbolic violence to children is generated in the media. For this reason, the important role that television plays in strengthening the social patterns assigned to girls and boys is analyzed and, likewise, the roles in which girls and boys are presented in entertainment programs broadcast on schedule are identified. family protection. The study was developed from a qualitative methodology to analyze the speech of symbolic violence to boys and girls, in the Peruvian television programs "Because today is Saturday with Andrés" and "Never again", broadcast on weekends, during the hours of protection of minors between 2020 and 2021. In this sense, its main findings show that boys and girls are represented as victims by the media, especially television, where they reinforce the gender roles imposed by society both girls like boys. To this end, the image of children is represented by these social spaces that help build a positive and negative image of children.
