This professional project has as a purpose that mining companies in charge of drilling which are in the exploration phase may have a tool for precise planning of their machinery maintenance, since reprocessing in drilling operations is very costly and happens when there is an irreparable damage on-site. The drilling and exploration company has an extremely strict overhauling plan which -due to a vast bottom line in the past- used to be viable, however these days that margin has been reduced which forces us to be more efficient in every aspect. This model proposes a change in the maintenance plan towards a predictive nature and for that we use the following tools: SS for cleaning and order in our working space for treating; SLP for a reduction in useless transit in maintenance operations; MTBF for the reliability of equipment maintenance: and, at last MRP to control spare parts and supply components. Reprocessing gets to a total of 77 yearly, which equates to 25 machines out of 130; after this model is applied 24 machines were corrected providing an availability of 98.46% with PdM (Predictive) methodology, besides that, we get a total of 29.84% of saving on spare parts and components storage costs.
