The Peruvian textile industry faces several difficulties in its development and progress. The main obstacle is due to the large number of competitors, mainly foreigners, who are gradually gaining ground in the Peruvian market. In addition, small and medium-sized companies do not have adequate production processes to cope with all the demand that comes to their doors. This forces customers to look for suppliers that are able to meet their demands and are prepared to respond to any variation in demand. As a result of the aforementioned, Peru loses international markets, thus decreasing exports, complicating the sustainability of certain companies and negatively affecting the GDP. This project will cover the textile sector, focusing on the production of synthetic man-made fibers. Since it is one of the products that is being most affected by this situation and the variation in export prices supports this fact. Generally, the manufacture of this product requires semi-automated machinery, which, in turn, requires good maintenance management, which is not happening in the case study that will be presented below. For this, it is proposed to use tools of Lean Manufacturing, SMED and 3 pillars of TPM, which will ensure the operational availability of the machines, reduce delays in the production line and be able to meet the orders meeting the date and specifications requested by the customer.
