The current research work carried out a qualitative analysis of three journalistic graphic novels that cover stories of sensitive themes and social problems. Works that are recognized for their journalistic value in the industry have been taken into consideration. The purpose of this work is to demonstrate that the graphic novel is a genre of great benefit in the in-depth approach to stories in a creative way; in this way, more journalists in our country and internationally will be encouraged in the future to explore this format. In the same way, it seeks to promote academic research on the genre and its teaching in higher schools of journalism. The work collected previous research related to the subject and gathered a list of elements that graphic novels fulfill to demonstrate their journalistic value such field work, archival sources, realistic and referential graphic resources, among others. Next, the objects of study were examined: the graphic novels Palestine. In the Gaza Strip; A.D.: New Orleans After the Deluge and Barcelona. The Junk Wanderers, determining how they meet these requirements. It was concluded that, through the use and application of these elements, the three graphic novels met to address complex problems of a sensitive nature, synthesizing the information and bringing the reader closer to the stories.
