Introduction: Healthy lifestyles are fundamental to maintain health and prevent non-communicable diseases. Attending physicians are a key part of the health system, but due to their long working hours and type of work, they lose sight of healthy lifestyle guidelines. Objective: To describe the healthy lifestyles of attending physicians in a third-level public hospital in Lima, Peru, 2024. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive study, which included 207 attending physicians of a public hospital. Demographic, anthropometric, and pathological information was collected and the Nola Pender et al. lifestyle scale adapted by Díaz, Márquez and Delgado was applied. Results: We found a mean age of 43 years and a BMI of 26.29 kg/m2. 56.04% of physicians were overweight and 10.63% had obesity. Only 39.13% presented a total score indicative of healthy based on the lifestyle survey, with a predominance in the dimensions of self-fulfillment, exercise, and interpersonal support. 10 out of 15 physicians with dyslipidemia do have a healthy lifestyle and 111 out of 170 healthy physicians do not have a healthy lifestyle. Conclusions: Less than half of the attending physicians are healthy in the tertiary hospital studied, based on the totality of the survey and the dimensions of nutrition, exercise and physical activity, and health responsibility.
