Introduction: Natural products represent an extensive source of bioactive compounds with multiple potential in diverse industries. Cyanobacteria stand out in the biomedical field thanks to the production of metabolites investigated for pharmaceutical purposes. Objectives: In this panoramic review, an exploration of the available information about the anti-inflammatory capacity of cyanobacterial metabolites of the genus Nostoc described in selected studies will be carried out. Materials and methods: The following research will be carried out according to Arksey and O'Malley's scheme for systematic reviews. The literature search will be performed in four databases: PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest, Google Scholar, and an artificial intelligence program. After implementing the strategy, the information obtained from the selected articles will be reviewed. There will be no date restriction. The titles and abstracts of the relevant publications will be compiled in a systematic review software, Rayyan, for final review and selection. Conclusions: The cyanobacteria of the genus Nostoc and their metabolites could be considered promising agents in the search for treatment against inflammatory diseases.
