con la salud mental, que se recopilaron en el metaanálisis y las revisiones sistemáticas;
Health professionals who are on the front lines of medical care for patients with COVID-19 faced intense work situations daily such as exhausting workdays, work pressure, lack of PPE, among others; as well as psychosocial and personal stressors such as worry about contagion, discrimination, feelings of abandonment and others that can affect their mental health. It can be noted then that in various countries around the world, studies were conducted on health personnel related to mental health, which were compiled in meta-analyses and systematic reviews; However, although Latin American countries investigated this topic, the information is not integrated. Aim. Analyze the state of mental health of health personnel working in Latin America during the pandemic caused by the spread of COVID-19 in the period 2020 - 2021. Methodology. Review of 21 scientific articles with a quantitative, qualitative and mixed approach, published in indexed journals from various databases such as SciELO, LILACS, PubMed and EBSCO during the years 2020 – 2021; The PRISMA method was used to collect data, the abstracts were reviewed and, where necessary, the complete articles, and the analysis sheet was used to organize the information. Results. The mental health status of health personnel in Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2021 has deteriorated significantly. Healthcare personnel experienced a reduction in their rest time, sleep disturbance, death of relatives and patients, worry about death, worry about the future, fear, uncertainty and sadness, leaving them susceptible to the development of mental problems such as depression, anxiety, stress. and even Burnout Syndrome.
