The purpose of this documentary research is to analyze studies on the impact that the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic had on eating disorders in the adolescent population at the national and international levels. Data is provided that facilitates the understanding of the main theme, evaluation and diagnostic tools, theoretical approaches to treatment, studies on the subject, and critical analysis of the results obtained. For this reason, a search was conducted on academic pages of DIALNET, REDALYC, SCIELO, and Google Scholar. In this way, eight studies that addressed the topic of interest were selected, considering that these studies were conducted between 2020 and 2024; they were non-experimental in design and lacked a control group. The reviewed studies showed a significant increase in the incidence of these disorders, exacerbated by factors such as isolation, social pressure, and constant exposure to unrealistic aesthetic standards promoted by social media. Therefore, it is essential to implement preventive and early intervention strategies that consider the biopsychosocial complexity of eating disorders and the specific needs of adolescents. Additionally, the importance of facilitating equitable access to specialized medical and psychological care for affected adolescents is highlighted, ensuring that they receive comprehensive and appropriate treatment.
