Introduction: The present professional adequacy work was carried out in an occupational health center where deficiencies or omissions were found that did not comply with the correct urine culture procedure. The urine culture is an important test because is the reference test for the diagnosis of urinary tract infection. For this reason, technical considerations in the proper processing of the urine culture are described below. Objective: To describe the technical considerations in the adequate processing of urine culture in an Occupational Health Center in Lima-Peru during the year 2023. Description of the project: We describe the technical considerations that we have to take into account in each phase of the process according to the reviewed bibliography. These phases are pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical. In each of them we detail strategies used to resolve the problem found. Results: With the strategies applied, improvements were obtained in the technical considerations for urine culture processing; records, instructions, flow charts for the pre-analytical and analyticalparts were implemented. Conclusions: To implement quality of service in the correct processing of urine culture, the following considerations were taken into account: staff training, improved guidance for correct sample collection, sample preservation time. The importance of internal quality control was also considered, as well as traceability, validation and delivery of results in a timely manner. By applying all this we have been able to reduce errors in the different phases of sample processing and thus obtain more reliable results.
