Introduction: Infective endocarditis (IE) presents clinical variability depending on the causative agent, host characteristics and other factors; for this reason, it is necessary to know local clinical-microbiological profile. Objective: Describe clinical-microbiological findings of patients diagnosed with IE in a third level hospital in Lima in the last 12 years. Materials and Methods: Retrospective longitudinal case series of patients with IE at HNCH from January 2011 to May 2023. Obtained data were analysed in Excel and STATA 17.. Results: 45 patients were selected, 38 ≥ 18 years and 7 <18 years; where a male:female ratio of 3:1 was found. The mean age was 45.84 ± 19.26 years for those aged ≥ 18 years. The average incidence rate was 10 cases/year. The most frequent clinical manifestations were fever and heart murmur in 35 (92.1%) patients. The most common site of endocarditis was over the aortic valve in 27 (60.0%). The most frequently isolated agent was Staphylococcus aureus in 13 (28.9%) cases. The most used antibiotic was Vancomycin and 33 (73.3%) patients required surgery. The most frequent complications were cardiological and the mortality rate was 24.4%. Conclusions: IE occurred more frequently in males, with fever and heart murmur, the aortic valve being the most affected. The most frequent isolated germ was Staphylococcus and the hospital mortality rate was 24%.
