This research seeks to build and validate the psychometric properties of the Masculinity and Femininity Traits Scale, which aims to identify the self-concept traits of masculinity and femininity in a person, which were grouped into four dimensions: Positive Masculinity, Negative Masculinity, Positive Femininity and Negative Femininity. The research had a sample of 240 students who were in the first year of their university education. The methodology is basic, non-experimental and with an instrumental design. The results indicate an adequate Content Validity, with an Aiken's V greater than 0.80, it is evident that the 24 items are significant. Subsequently, the Discrimination Indicator were identified, excellent values were recovered on the scales of how to better describe a woman and oneself; with the exception of item Vfp17, present on the scale as it best describes a man, which presents a value below the expected one. Construct validity was performed through confirmatory factor analysis, the model manages to meet the following goodness-of-fit statistics: Chi-square X² degrees of freedom (2 ≤ 5), Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) (≤.08), Bentler Comparative Fit Index (CFI) (.90≤) and Non-Normalized Fit Index (TLI) (.90≤). In addition, a high level of reliability was obtained in the three scales Woman: Femininity (ω = .89) and Masculinity (ω = .95), Male: Femininity (ω = .92) and Masculinity (ω = .85) and Oneself: Femininity (ω = .93) and Masculinity (ω = .87). Finally, the percentile standards with 2 categories were achieved to measure the tendency of a person to develop the traits.
